In July 2003, in order to meet the increasing level of railway transport and the increasing demand of passenger traffic, the Ministry of Railways undertook the column-free canopy reconstruction for 2-6 platform of the Beijing West Railway Station and also updated the communication, signal, power, Information and other facilities. The communications and information system of Beijing West Railway Station built by our company includes television monitoring system, passenger broadcasting system, passenger guidance system, clock system, and voice communications and integrated wiring system. 110 sets of most advanced intelligent high-speed ball machine were adopted for the monitoring system in the project. The industry's leading digital matrix equipment was also adopted. 24 sets of 21-inch LCD monitors and 4 sets of 50-inch DLP were used to constitute the TV wall. And the existing 60 lines of video were put into the new system control with a total of 256 input video; the passenger broadcasting system was also reconstructed. The power amplifier equipment, power equipment and audio source equipment were updated and renovated with 340 new speakers which created a precedent high-span column-free sound filed of national railway; this has become the standard configuration of column-free loudspeaker of the railway. It is updated with 120 pieces of new ultra-bright single red LED display and 2 pieces of large dual-color LED display; the clock system was reconstructed and a set of new master clock equipment was updated, more than 50 new sub-clocks were added, which provided the station with an accurate and reliable clock service. After the reconstruction, the subsystems of the communications and information system of the Beijing West Railway Station have reached the leading level in domestic and in a long time it will become a model for similar reconstruction projects. It has been high spoken of by leaders at all levels and experts. The column-free canopy reconstruction project of Beijing West Railway Station was named "National Quality Project".
