The additional second line project of Gantang to Wuwei south railway of Lanzhou Railway Bureau includes the additional second line project of Gantang to Wuwei south railway (including the reconstruction of existing lines) and closing reconstruction of Yingshuiqiao-Gantang section of Bao-Lan railway line. Among them, the additional second line project of Gantang to Wuwei south railway starts from Gantang town of Zhongwei City, passes by Azuo Banner, Jingtai County, Gulang County and ends in Wuwei south town of Wuwei City with a total length of 172.192 km. 5 stations will be closed including Yuejiajing, Qingyangshan, Bingcaowan, Shixiazi, Shuangcao and 10 stations will be set including Gantang, Wulan Aobao, Guojiayao, Dazuizi, Tanjiajing, Heichongtan, Tumenzi, Yuandun, Shangyaodun, and Wuwei South after the additional second line. The total length of the closing reconstruction project from Yingshuiqiao of Bao-Lan line to Gantang is 64.423 kilometers with 9.93 km for the straight link from Wulan Aobao to Xiaohongshan.

It has played an important role in enhancing the economic and social development of Northwest region. Gan-Wu second-line is a very crucial project to crack the bottleneck of the eastern section of the Silk Road and also the important measures to to promote the "golden section of economic belt of the Silk Road". The completion of Gan-Wu second line will make new contributions to promoting the development of western regions.
